This program is trauma-informed & works to ensure that our vulnerable friends are not exploited.

  • The 'My Friend Dave' Project is a community initiative focused on helping vulnerable men share their stories through creative expression, including film, book writing, and art.

  • Men who are living on the street, in addiction, have been incarcerated, in recovery.

  • Dave is a currently houseless friend who wants to share his story. Dave is also encouraging others to share their stories, because he sees the power in it.

  • Participation is currently open to houseless or previously houseless individuals who want to share their stories through our various creative workshops held on Mondays. Please contact us for more details.

  • Yes! While our current a focus is on houseless individuals, we welcome anyone to share their experiences and stories anonymously on our website!

  • Stories and art are shared on our website, included in our upcoming book, and featured in our videos. Participants have control over how much they share.

  • We have a strict consent process and allow participants to remain anonymous if they choose. We prioritize ethical storytelling and the well-being of our contributors.

  • We provide emotional support through partnerships with local mental health professionals and ensure a safe and respectful environment for sharing.
